Curated color palettes for a room
A room palette begins with what is already there: light, material, memory, and the one color you want to keep seeing.
Read the room before adding color
Notice the fixed colors first: flooring, stone, timber, metal, daylight, and the view outside the window. These are already part of the palette whether you name them or not.
Choose an anchor from that existing material, then add a lighter surface and a deeper grounding tone. The result usually feels more connected than a palette chosen in isolation.
Use accents as moments
A small warm accent can make a cool room feel lived-in; a dark note can give pale surfaces a frame. Keep accents movable when you are still exploring—a textile, artwork, or object is a better first commitment than a wall.
The right palette does not erase the room. It makes the room’s existing character easier to notice.
